Hypnobirthing

Birth Without Fear

Hypnobirthing is about preparing you for a more calm and positive labour and birth. It is about providing you with the tools and the support so that you are the one that is in the driver’s seat.

So, what is hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing is for EVERYONE!

It is about bringing birth back to basics.  Understanding our bodies, and the importance of the mind-body connection.  Hypnobirthing teaches you how to work with your body so that you can labour exactly as you were designed to do- instinctually with an abundance of hormones flowing through your body at all the right times and in all the right moments.  To do this, we need to ensure we can create a conducive environment; one that is loved-up, calm and supportive.

Hypnobirthing Australia’s Positive Birth Course will provide you and your birthing partner with the knowledge, tools and techniques to not only approach birth calmly but with a bucketful of courage and confidence.  Hypnobirthing will teach your support team how to work with you throughout every stage of labour, even in the moments you are truly feeling tested.

Hypnobirthing will teach you how to ask questions and advocate safely for you and your baby and whilst the Positive Birth course is built upon the belief that when you harness the power of the mind-body connection you are able to remain calm and in control, it is just ONE part of what is the most well-rounded childbirth education class Australia has to offer.

Benefits of Hypnobirthing:

What does the evidence say about hypnobirthing?

Studies show that complementary antenatal education programs like Hypnobirthing Australia’s Positive Birth program can have wonderful benefits on birthing outcomes and maternal satisfaction. A 2016 Australian study by Kate Levett found that epidural and caesarean section rates were halved and babies were less likely to require resus; with higher 1 minute APGAR scores. A study (Smith et al, Adelaide, Australia) conducted in Adelaide found that women who were taught self-hypnosis had decreased requirements for pharmacological analgesia and were more satisfied with their pain management in labour whilst a small study in the UK found that women had a greater sense of relief and consolation, self confidence, satisfaction and decrease in fear of natural childbirth. They expressed increased concentration on their uterus and cervical muscle and had a much greater awareness of all stages of their labour (Abbasi et al, Middlesex UK). The most important thing about Hypnobirthing Australia’s Positive Birth Program is that it will leave you feeling prepared for whatever pathway your birthing journey takes.
